Hoyu Studio Opens

Japanese hair color company Hoyu America opened a studio at their Cypress office. The opening ceremony took place on June 14th. Hoyu America opened its doors in Cypress in 2006. Hoyu mainly used their office to manufacture products for the general public, but this studio will be used for professional hair stylists and colorists to learn about hair coloring techniques.

Electronic Entertainment Expo

E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) was held on June 15th to 17th at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Over 300 video game companies held booths at E3, one of the biggest game expos in the world. This year, Sony announced the PlayStation Move, a new wireless remote control system that is compatible with the PlayStation 3. Sony is releasing the PlayStation Move on September 21st. Nintendo came out with the Nintendo 3DS. This handheld hardware allows games to be enjoyed with 3D effects without the need for special glasses. The Nintendo 3DS will be out on the market next year.

The Overseas Election for the House of Councilors in Japan

From June 25th to July 4th, the Overseas Election for the House of Councilors in Japan will take place at the JACCC in Little Tokyo. Voters are advised to bring their Overseas Election Voting Card and a photo ID. Polling takes place in room 204 from 9:30am to 5:00pm.
