-Cultural Immersion a Big Trend with Travelers-
The Travel and Adventure Show sponsored by the Los Angeles Times, took place at the Los Angeles Convention Center on February 13th and 14th. At the event, more than 550 national and international travel agencies set up booths and offered visitors travel information. A theme of this year's Travel and Adventure Show, was "cultural immersion." JNTO (Japan National Tourism Organization) set up a booth as well and appealed to the visitors with their travel plans that one can experience Japanese culture.
Japanese Prefectural Association of Southern California's 2010 New Officers Installation
-President Fukuoka Speaks on Plans for 2010-
The 2010 officers installation luncheon for the Japanese Prefectural Association of Southern California took place at Quiet Cannon in Montebello on February 14th.
The Japanese Prefectural Association of Southern California was established in 1964 as a liaison facility for the 41 prefectural associations in Southern California. Today, they have 17,000 members. Kenji Fukuoka, from Kumamoto Prefecture, was chosen as the 2010 president. Mr. Fukuoka says the average age of the Japanese Prefectural Association of Southern California members is 73, and that he would like to recruit younger members. At the end of the ceremony, performers from various prefectures entertained the audiences and celebrated the inauguration of the new board members.
