Union Bank Renews Logo
-“Invest in ‘U’”-


Union Bank officially revealed their new logo at a press conference held in downtown, Los Angeles on Monday, July 20, 2009. This was the first time in Union Bank’s history that all the branch offices participated in a celebratory event.

At the announcement, Tim Wennes of retail banking, emphasized the importance of trust between a bank and the community. The new logo is a big “U” shape. It symbolizes the “YOU” from “You, the customer.”

This new logo was created after changing the corporate name from “Union Bank of California” to “Union Bank” last December.  Union Bank is eager to build trust not only with the customers in the state of California, but also with customers from all 50 states.


Fuzjko Hemming’s Los Angeles Recital
-A Pianist with Soul-


Classical pianist Fuzjko Hemming held a piano recital on July 24th and 26th at The Broad Stage in Santa Monica. Tickets were sold out for both days.

At the age of 16, she began to struggle with hearing loss and became completely deaf in both ears at one point in her life. She has recovered 40% of hearing in her left ear. Playing distinctive interpretations of Beethoven, Chopin, and Liszt, she has been called the “The Pianist who plays with a Soul” because her performance captures many audiences’ hearts.

Fuzjko Hemming’s next performance will be on September 18 at the Lincoln Center in New York.
